New Jersey: The East Coast’s home of Festivals and Fairs

With vibrant cities, seaside towns and endless miles of countryside, New Jersey offers visitors one of the most diverse tourism experiences in the United States.

Bustling urban areas, stunning beaches and picturesque mountains provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy different holiday experiences across the state.

New Jersey is also home to a packed calendar of events that take place throughout the year, ensuring that you will never be short of something to do regardless of when you travel.

Read on as we look at some of the top events staged annually in the Garden State.

Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival

First held in 2006, the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival now attracts over 90 specialist breweries from across the US.

Also known as the ‘Celebration of the Suds’, more than 25,000 attend the event every April to enjoy great beer and superb live music from local and national acts.

If you’re feeling energetic, sign-up for the 5K ‘Hops Trot’ that takes a tour of the best beer spots in and around Atlantic City.

You can even use your nj-code.com winnings to fund a NJ Brewery Passport for the chance to get a free ticket for next year’s event!

New Jersey Seafood Festival

The NJ Seafood Festival in Belmar has boomed in popularity in recent years, with more than 150,000 people attending the event annually.

Top class chefs are on hand to cook up a plethora of culinary delights including shrimp, lobster, calamari, sushi, conch fritters and seafood paella.

Food vendors are located in the Belmar Plaza parking lot behind Pyanoe Plaza, while craft and market stalls can be found on the 8th Avenue sidewalk.

The event also features a host of popular local bands performing live during all three days of a festival that is ranked in the top 100 in North America.

New Jersey State Fair

Originally created to showcase the agriculture in the region, the NJ State Fair has grown into one of the most diverse events in the calendar.

Featuring free family entertainment events and activities, demolition derbies, monster truck rides, pro bull riding and more, there is something to suit every taste at the Fair.

Live performing arts, a carnival, horse show, food vendors and a beer tent add further variety to and event that lasts for over a week during August.

With adult tickets costing as little as $9, the New Jersey State Fair is one of the most economical days out you can enjoy.

While I’ve always loved both jobs and never wanted to let either of them go, I finally made a change in my life. Read More…
