How To Keep Your Kids Busy This Summer

If you’re on the hunt for new ways to keep your kids entertained during their summer break, simply continue reading to discover a wide variety of ways to keep your kids entertained this summer.

How to keep your kids busy in the summer:

1. Encourage your kids to start their own summer business

If you have fond memories of running a lemonade stand as a child, you may want to encourage your kids to start their own summer business. To sweeten the deal, you can even promise to take your kids to a local toy store to purchase a toy that they have their eye on, once they’ve raised enough funds.

If you’re not keen on the idea of your kids interacting with strangers, you may want to offer to pay your kids to help you with some extra chores around the house. Your kids may even enjoy having water fights with you while helping you wash your car.

2. Set up fun scavenger hunts around your property

You don’t have to leave your property in order to make memories with your kids, as an example, you may want to set up a scavenger hunt around your house or in your backyard. Just be sure to leave a prize at the end of the treasure hunt for your kids to find. If your kids have friends who live in your neighborhood, you may want to consider inviting them around to participate in your kids’ treasure hunt.

3. Set up a slip and slide water slide in your backyard

On scorching hot days, it’s well worth setting up a slip and slide water slide in your backyard, which is simple to set up and will keep your little ones entertained for several hours.

4. Invest in purchasing a small, inexpensive paddling pool

If you have young kids in your family, you may want to invest in purchasing a small, inexpensive paddling pool, for your kids to splash around in on hot days.

5. Let each child in your family choose a family activity each week

One way to get your kids involved in planning their summer activities is to allow each child in your family to select one family excursion each week, from a list of pre-approved excursions. Examples of which may include a family trip to the zoo, a local amusement park or a trip to an observatory.

6. Build a blanket fort

Your kids will love having the opportunity to watch movies with you inside their very own blanket fort. Just be warned your kids are unlikely to want to take down their blanket fort, once they’ve finished playing with it.

7. Camp out with your kids under the stars

If you have a suitable tent, you may want to pitch your tent in your backyard in order to give your kids their very first camping experience, whilst still being able to access the comforts of home.

So if you want to ensure that your kids are kept well entertained this summer, it’s well worth taking inspiration from the kid-friendly activities listed above!
